The Beginning
Fourteen years ago, I wanted to make something special for my wife. I had done other types of projects such as adding on to and remodeling my home, but I had very little experience with fine woodworking. So, I asked my dad to teach me while making a simple cutting board. That was the beginning of my love affair with woodworking and allowed me to spend more time with my Dad. He is a talented wood worker and seemed to enjoy teaching the finer points of creating quality products that are long lasting. That first cutting board turned into building treasure boxes, china cabinet and credenza, TV stands, river tables, charcuterie boards, jewelry boxes, display cases, bowls, etc. What began as an effort to make a gift for my wife and spend time with my Dad, turned into a passion for creating quality woodworking; sharing with those who appreciate and enjoy the look and beauty of natural wood products in their home. Our goal is to make your vision a reality and provide long lasting family heirlooms.
Personal History
After more than 40 years in the fire service, retiring as Fire Chief, then going on to become (and now recently retired, again!) the Emergency Manager for a local city, I have decided to turn my passion into a business to support my addiction to crafting and creating. The running joke my wife and I share is that she buys me tools in order to keep me out of trouble, but the truth is, she understands my passion for woodworking. Woodworking has been a journey for me, I have enjoyed learning from others’ and developing the skills that allow us to share beautiful wood products with others. Over the years we’ve accumulated the specialty tools and equipment that are key to quality products that can be handed down to future generations. Most recently we’ve been focusing on river tables, matching unique, and beautiful wood with epoxy resin, but we love building wood furnishings and treasures. It’s also important to say that this is a partnership, my wife is part of the creative team and helps in the shop as needed. None of this would be possible without her support and encouragement all along the way
Products
Our goal is to create pieces of furniture and art that become family heirlooms. When we make a table or other product, we will work closely with you to ensure you have the item or product that you desire. We will work with color samples, find pieces of wood that create the look you desire, and we will work with you on the design. Prices will vary depending on the size, design, and materials, but each piece will be handcrafted especially for you. Throughout the process, you will receive photos of your piece to keep you informed of the progress.
River tables aren’t our only product, we also design charcuterie boards, bowls, jewelry boxes, and much more. If you have an idea, we will work with you to give you the product you are looking for. Our business model is really to work with our valued customers to identify your goals and desires and build something you’ll be proud to show off in your home. While we will continue to post items for sale, we really want to build your vision or dream item. If you can describe what you want, we can probably build it for you within a reasonable time, giving you get exactly what you’ve dreamed about.
